These pots are full of tulip and daffodil bulbs rescued from diggers and building work last year. I can’t remember which varieties they are exactly (keeping garden notes not being my strong point; must get better) but I know the tulips are pinks and purples. And the daffs are the palest of pale yellow. I was so chuffed to find their perky leafiness underneath a layer of winter detritus.
My daughter was highly amused at my reaction: “You get so excited about plants, Mum. It’s funny and makes me feel happy.” I may have totally failed to persuade my children to help out in the garden but at least she understands the association with happiness.
