Christmas Wishes

Hello! How’s it going? I hope your festive preparations (if you are celebrating Christmas) are coming together smoothly with minimal pre-holiday panic.

My children all finished school last Friday and they are busy catching up on sleep and socialising. Our tree is up and decorated – bickering teenagers don’t create the same magical atmosphere as excited little children, but it happened and only one set of lights didn’t work. I’ll bring more greenery indoors this week and enjoy doing that quietly before anyone else is up. I think I’m there with the present-buying and card-writing but there is still plenty to do (wrapping, food-shopping and making, cleaning, tidying…). You know how it is. I am feeling calmer than I usually do at this point, though!

This is the time of year when I stop and remember people – those I have loved and do love, people I know and don’t know personally. It is important for me to appreciate them and all that I have, and to try to spread the love a little. If you have a few spare moments, I highly recommend reading these blog posts that capture the spirit of the season for me – CJ’s moving post about her late aunt, Lynda’s post about a Christmas book (gorgeously festive) and Jane’s post about her Christmas spirit in the outback.

I would like to thank you for visiting this tiny space in the ether and for sharing it with me. I wish you and your loved-ones a wonderful Christmas and may 2018 be healthy, happy and fulfilling.

Sam x

  1. Hey Sam,
Have a wonderful Christmas. I hoped to blog, but may not have time. Life is a blur of bleach these days.
I’ve so enjoyed connecting with you here and on Instagram.
    Here’s to a fabulous 2018.
    Leanne xx

  2. Happy Christmas to you and yours Sam. It is always a pleasure to stop by, with a cup of coffee and a smile on my face.

The as yet undecorated tree is looking ever so green and fresh, and smells lovely. It is starting to feel like Christmas here, too. xx

  3. Thank you so much Sam, very kind of you to link me! Your Christmas decorations are gorgeous. I am pleased to hear you are feeling calm. Funnily enough I still have heaps to do but I am feeling calm too. Perhaps I am getting better at managing these big occasions. I am looking forward to visiting your blog again in 2018! x Jane

  4. Merry Christmas, Mrs! Have enjoyed reading about your life this year. Glad all is going well. All good here too. Have a lovely festive season xx

  5. Thank you for the mention Sam, and your kind words. Similar last minute things to do here, although I’ve had a Christmas grocery delivery and the fridge is packed already. Slightly disconcerting as I don’t yet have any kind of beast to roast for the meat eaters, yet there is no space left anywhere. Nut roast all round? I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a very happy 2018. CJ xx

  6. And the very best to you and all your family too, Sam – I am glad things are relatively calm in the Coastal Plot household. Several days staying safe inside when it was snowy and icy outside has meant my preparations were virtually complete extra early this year!

  7. Even though it’s early January now, and all your decorations are most likely long since down, I think yoIur home looks wonderfully festive and cosy. I hope you had a lovely Christmas with your family. Happy new year Sam. xx
